If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

I know you have no glimpse of how much I appreciate your contributions, quite insightful.
Everyday I learn and be more knowledgeable about things I do not have much knowledge about. Experience is the best teacher, so they say. So scratch out being a jerk/ruining the fun, as you've mentioned. I did some calculations based on those estimates, realized at the end of longer term, I tend to pay over $10,000. Time will surely tell especially when the car ordered arrives, then i would weigh out all options, offers, incentives available at the time, then a final decision would be made. No rushing regardless how bad I want the car, or how much love I have for the car.
Once again, thank you and I'm always glad being a part/member of this awesome forum.
I'm glad you found it insightful and appreciate it.

I ordered mine today! Ended up going with the Moss w/Dune Brown SX w/Prestige AWD, $46,215 out the door w/the following accessories at no cost: Illuminated scuff plates, all weather mats w/trunk liner, cargo net, rear bumper protection, and side steps at dealer cost. The rebates I got were the 1000 competitor and 400 military off MSRP. Not much of a discount and I shopped 8 dealers, most had the vehicle priced at an average 5k above MSRP when I see those side stickers I walk away. I did not pay tax as I'm a disable vet in GA. 1.9 @ 60. The nice thing is that the dealer is letting me drive a Sorento SX while the order comes in which is roughly 60 days away.

Did you purchase it in GA? We’re shopping it right now. Can I ask which dealer you purchased from?

If Kia's MSRP were several thousand higher, dealerships would have more wiggle room to offer their own discounts...

Not quite. They COULD offer discounts. But, with limited inventory and a desire to maximize their own profit, they're not. That's why many/most are above MSRP. That goes right to their bottom line.

I hope not! Depreciation like that would be worse than Mercedes!

It's a good point.. if you pay several K over MSRP.. the "residual value" will still be exactly the same.. meaning you've lost more money. Another good reason to wait.

And can charge the sales tax for Delaware? (0%) :)

Sales tax is paid based on where the car is registered, not where it's purchased.

I have been very patient looking for my new Telluride. I live in NJ. I joined this group and learned some very valuable information to help me make a good decision. For the last few months, I have been dealing with many dealers within a 90 mile radius of my home. I have heard it all. We don't order Tellurides, No one will sell you one at MSRP, Your lucky I even have a car here for you to look at because I have 10 people coming to look at it later.... The list goes on and on
Today I found another dealer an hour away. I was very apprehensive about going in there, but he had a silver one that I could not find anywhere, and I wanted to see that color. I loved the silver, so I asked him for his best price. He first said MSRP and if I wanted the financing incentive I had to take a loan with a higher interest rate. I knew that didn't sound right so I was about to walk out and he then said Ok I really need to make a sale today. I ended up, after negotiating back and forth, $38, 599 for an EX AWD with the tow package, carpeted mats and a cargo liner. MSRP was $41, 305.

Boston, MA area several dealers around but very little inventory except for LX's and EX's in white or sangria. Finally found a gravity grey S (the color we wanted) dealer marked it up 2k over MSRP then applied a kia 2k lease rebate, so in effect got it for MSRP of ~37k. Wanted the EX but they didn't have AWD. Don't feel like it was such a bad deal in the end when you hear the horror stories of Sx's going for +10k or so. The "S" trim seems even harder to find then the SX at least around here.

Congrats, we got the same color combo. I love that they put the white headliner in it so it still is bright even with the black interior.

Welcome to the Kia family...The wife and I have had a 2004 Spectra, 2012 Sorento, 2013 Sorento, 2016 Sorento, 2018 Stinger X2, 2020 Telluride and our kids have had 2 Souls, 2 Fortes and a Niro. We have had no problems at all except for warped rotors on the Stinger( replaced under warranty). My youngest son had his motor blow with 67K on his Forte and they replaced it under warranty. needless to say, we love the brand and it's value.

Thanks, coming from a 2013 Chrysler town & country got 7 grand kids 5-16 I’m sure the little ones gonna miss the overhead dvd movies😉

I really need to make a sale today.

Nicely done. Love end of month. End of quarter even better. End of year - golden. Not sure how Kia does it but a lot of sales folks get bonuses based on quantity sold over time. (some friendly dealers here can correct me if this is wrong for Kia). In many cases, those bonuses are more than selling for far less...sometimes both for the rep and the manager.

My best deal was on a used, fully-loaded Lexus LS460 from a dealer that I went to specifically because they had too many of them (tons off of a 3yr lease all at the same time). I played the game for two months then walked in at 9:01pm on New Years Eve. Got a $55k sticker car for $34,500 off the lot after showing him that some of the panel serial #s didn't match (3 panel replacement w/Lexus still qualifies for CPO - even with a clean title/CARFAX). Drove it for 3 years, changed the oil a few times (included), got some warranty stuff fixed (under a CPO warranty), then sold it back to Carmax for $35,500. He told me that he was going to have to cover some of it but that he only needed one more sell to get his bonus which was far greater. Maybe it was fake but driving a high-end Lexus for 3 years for free was kinda awesome... and gawd that was a nice car...

What is CPO?
