What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

Then should wait for the supply to go up. Because I was hell bent on buying a Telluride and now thinking of it why should I spend 50k+ OTD on a Kia (I spent 45k OTD on my Sorento) if I can get a slightly used 2017+ Mercedes GLS450 for 35-40K OTD with more luxury and better performance.

Yes, you should run and get that Mercedes GLS450. The luxury won’t be better, but the performance, maintenance expenses and repairs will shock the sass right outta you.

Now go. Be gone!!

Just for your info...if you shop there are deals...at least in Ontario, Canada. I got $4000 discount off msrp of 49995+225 for white sx awd plus frt, air tax and
You received clearly not 4k discounts. In Ontario, before tax 13% the car costs 52,279.

Wondering about expectations for price off msrp—my dealer is now taking orders but will only do it for msrp. Any ideas about negotiating price or expected rebates/incentives? Are other Kia models discounted much?
Billing Kia has an SX... asking $15k above MSRP.

Kwim....you are absolutely right. 49995+225(white)+ 1895 (Frt and pdi)+138.15 (air and tire tax) = 52,253.15 msrp. I paid 48,250 plus 13% hst. I didn't think all the numbers were that relevant....only the fact that I got $4000 off msrp and some dealers (at least in Ontario) are willing to deal. I had to shop multiple dealers before I found the deal I wanted. I guess my previous post was not very clear. Sorry....

Who was the dealer, or at least, were they from an urban area, like greater Toronto or Ottawa, or small town dealer ?

Olympus...it was a small town dealer about 1 hour north of the GTA. Pm me if you want .

Well done !!!
I got $3000 + change off MSRP for an SXL with Nappa, for “cash” purchase
Also from a small town between Ottawa and Toronto, as they were willing to negotiate
No SXLs left in Ottawa except for maybe 1 white one, a color I do not personally prefer
Lots of SX still avaiLiable, but 1/2 of Kia dealers are out of any type of Telluride
Does not look like Kia will come out with any type of additional discount for Telluride for now, unlike for other Kia models

Overpaid for my sxp w/all options in November at 58k incl taxes and fees , but I had to have it. And I like it!

South Florida, SX, no options (not even carpet floor mats) .. MSRP 42,960.00. They wanted 4k over, but due to some errors on their part, managed to get it down to 3k over. Feel icky about it but it's a great car so far ( I've only had it a few hours ha).

I got lucky and just got ex premium package grey/grey for full msrp and I thought that was crazy. I had never purchased a car for full sticker but reached out to around 20 dealers in area and most were charging markup 2500-5995 in dc/md/nova/de reagion.

I'm on the east coast and its really hard to find any SXP around here that's not above MSRP. Had a bad phone call with a sales rep and gave a bad review. General Manager called me and apologized and hooked me up with his demo Snow White SXP AWD with only 10k miles for $43,800 including delivery. The dealer was 300 miles away and he only charged a dollar a mile and they delivered it two days later. Got the car and besides few scuff marks on the plastic in the very back where they obviously loaded cargo or something, everything is pristine. Good deal?

That sounds like a decent deal right now. Definitely a lot smarter to go that route than those geniuses who pay over sticker. Once production catches up, these things aren't going to be worth any more used than anything else in its class. Might as well save a few grand buying their demo. People will be able to buy one at a discount in the not too distant future.

We saw this with the Subaru Ascent. You couldn't get a hold of one, dealers were marking them up but now they've been out like 3 years and you can get them used for a song and they're discounted new like everything else.

I can't believe they charged you for delivery. Most places will deliver like 500 miles for free. Especially nowadays.

Almost pulled the trigger yesterday on a CPO SXP - Moss/Grey w 10K miles on it. It was previously driven by a Kia rep. CARFAX came back clean. They offered 45,500 for it and we were very close to buying it...until we jumped in for a test drive and the AC was broken. I‘m sure there’s an 80% chance that was a fluke and once fixed, it won’t act up again, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy a CPO that I know for a fact has an issue with the AC. Dealer was unwilling to go lower either. At 42 or 43, maybe I would have felt differently.

I didn't know most places would do that. Hell this is the first time I bought a vehicle over the phone. Thank you for the reply

I'm in ND, one of my neighbors buys his new pickups (every two years) from a dealer in Iowa. They drive up the new truck and drive his trade home.

The last used car I bought they drove it down from a dealership 80 miles away, I drove it, found a repair that was needed, negotiated a transmission flush and the repair into the deal. They drove it back, fixed it, brought it back to me and we did the paperwork at my kitchen table.

The key here people is that the consumer is in control and good dealers will work for your business. I don't understand these dealers that are marking these Tellurides up. It's not like these are limited production vehicles. The time will come when these will be lined up for miles at your local kia dealer right next to those Sorentos. Some other company will come out with something better right about the time they get caught up and people will flock to the next big thing. Dealers make more money on new cars in the service department than the sales department. So, marking up cars vs working to accommodate customers seems like the better play? I wonder how many people see that markup, leave and never give that dealership another second of thought in their lives. They're turning off handfuls of potential customers from using their service department to make an extra 3-5k on the vehicle up front.

Sorry for the rant but if people just refused to pay markup, there wouldn't be markup because the dealers would be getting punished for not moving any vehicles.

I think you did pretty well in this market HazMatt. Your dealer seems like Jekyll and Hyde though. They ticked you off, made good then got you for 300 extra bucks. Oh well, you got a Telly and didn't have to sell the farm for it. Enjoy your new ride!

I like this strategy. Only I’m gonna tell them 6K under invoice.

Actually my real strategy is to wait a few months until real discounts (and the Palisade, which I’m also seriously considering) appear. Then I’m gonna search Auto Trader/Car Gurus for the lowest price in the country and ask a local dealer to beat the price.

My goal is 41K max for an SX Prestige (hey, that’s 6K under sticker!), maybe 42.5 for whatever the all-in Palisade is.
LOL, if you out bargain the other 20k members on this site, let us know! 😹😹😹
