  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... In california? Doubt it 🤦🏾‍♂️
Now we know you're making stuff up. There's no way anyone got 5k off a Telly in CA.

Definitely can't unless you've put 10 years of hard work in a company who treats their employees like family.
Please do share the employee pricing with us. I've heard 5% off and I've heard invoice price less any incentives. Sounds like you got about 10% off.

I think everyone missed the part where he said that he works for Kia.

And even then it wasn't easy to get

I don't work for corporate
I work for a family owned dealership

So it varies wildly dealership to dealership

I like the palisade exterior better. I plan to wait took , it’s hard. Although I’ve waited this long for a car , I should be able to keep waiting. No way I will buy without any discounts. If I have to wait to end of year , I guess I can. The sorento is $8k under sticker so I figured $6k is aggressive but fair. Cant hurt to ask.
So... how did that work out for you?

Dealers can sell a vehicle for whatever they want remember. This goes both ways, above or below MSRP which is suggested and accounts for all costs and some profit on that vehicle. If that dealer gets $5-10k above msrp on all their other Tellurides Im sure they can afford to let a few go at or below invoice.
With that being said its kind of a moot point to state this "deal" here as it doesn't apply to 99% of the consumers out there. Lol
I forsee the Selluride price gouging continuing into next year easily and this transaction is an exception to the rule.

Hey guys! My wife and I are, hopefully, going this weekend to see an ex nightfall we have reserved. Went to two other Kia dealers and got the run around. First one seemed helpful at first, but they didn't have stock. Tried another dealer and we're making good headway until he hold me 5.99% was the 'best' rate I could get with an 816 credit score. Originally they worked it up with 7%, ha! Then the first dealer played the same game as the second with the interest rate. We got lucky and another dealer had the car we are looking for. Looks like they want 3k over MSRP, id like to be around 15-2k max. They said the same thing as everyone else, 35 people on the waiting list, not budging on markups etc. What are some tactics to get that number down??

See if they'll come down to the $1500-$2000 markup if you finance with them on the spot. Tell them $2k markup with KIA $500 rebate bringing markup down to your desired $1500.
Accept their bs interest rate, then refinance it next week accordingly with your trusted financial institution. I had a similar interest rate experience today but the sales price was at msrp. GL man

A third dealer in my state offered me actual Kia financing, 2.9% -3.9% but added markup. We got an initial phone price of 52,216. That sounds ok, but I'd at least like to try and work down. If they work me over like the others, I'll never set foot in a Kia dealer again.
