Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Picked up locally from Phil Long Kia in Colorado Springs on Friday and everything went smooth.

Test drove a used Telluride in August that was marked up and Dan said if I was willing to wait, cost would be MSRP + $995 for their dealer package (pulsing light, all weather floor mats, door guards). Placed an order in August and Dan kept me apprised of the status- which was great because mine never hit FC. Got a call Friday morning that it was coming off the truck and he verified I didn’t want it washed- I told him I just didn’t want it going through an automatic wash so they did it by hand. We picked it up Friday night and it looked great- dealer plate frames but no additional dealer stickers or branding.

They gave me a decent value on my trade and there weren’t any surprises price wise. Dan was great and the finance guy didn’t push/sell a single thing. I asked for clarification on one warranty item, he answered, I declined and we moved on.

Very smooth and pain free experience - would recommend. I’ve included Dan’s information below:

Don't know about Phx, but in Tucson, Jim Click wanted 5-10k over (about a month ago) depending on trim level. Royal Kia was doing at MSRP, but no longer taking orders.
I just picked up my Telly today from Royal Kia...none on the lot but I think they are taking deposits. They are great to deal with!

Hello Everyone,

I am from the NYC area.. anyone know any positive dealership here or in the NJ area offers MSRP. Trying to order a SX and it’s so bad some NYC dealers mark-up their prices cause they can. Thank you!
Try Matthews Kia in Vestal, Syracuse or Greece, NY. Worth the drive.

Ed Voyles Kia in Chamblee.

I got in before they started adding a markup to MSRP to order. David Bernal actually suggested ordering to me on the phone when I first called and was pleasant and responsive the whole way through. Today we picked the car up and the process was painless. He walked us through everything on the car, there were no unpleasant surprises in the paper work, and the finance department went smoothly and did not push back when we rejected all of the extra coverages. If you are looking for someone to work with in Atlanta I found David to be fantastic and the experience was painless.
Can I ask how long it took yours to arrive? We just placed an order with David last week. Glad to hear you’ve had a good experience with him!

I contacted Nutley in Oct they said they didn't do orders anymore... unless they wound up doing it again. I just ordered in Murray kia

I just gave my deposit to Nutley Auto Kia today. They are placing factory orders for Northern NJ residents only (I'm in Morris County). Doc fee is a slightly high $399 and they want 3 factory options added to each build (I chose carpeted floor mats, cargo net, and wheel locks), but worth it IMO as they're literally the only dealership in NJ honoring MSRP.

Ordered 6/13 received 12/16. David was a pleasure to work with.

Kia of Mankato (MN) was a good buying experience for me. Didn’t try to upsell me on anything and worked with me quite a bit on the whole buying / reserving process. They did add a weather package, but it was useful stuff and not upselled nonsense like my local dealer. If you are out of state, they most likely won’t do a sale unless you live close enough to them, however.

Avoid Billion Kia like the plague in Sioux Falls. Among whatever else, mandatory 3k in dealer add-ons that are no value add. I have zero idea how they have that high of a rating.

We got tired of the Florida dealers adding adjustments and fees to the MSRP and not wanting to negotiate. We found this forum and found Kia of Muncie and got our Costco pricing $1000 under MSRP. We bought one in 2019. Just ordered another one 12/17/21 Reach out to Lucas.

We just had a fantastic experience ordering our 2022 SX Limited Nightsky from Orangeville Kia (Ont., Canada). We paid $1,800 below MSRP and the admin fees were next to nothing... Oh, and they didn't lowball our trade. I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you live in the GTA. Ask for Dave!

Did they tell you approximately when Kia would pick it up?

Bought one at Willowbrook in IL. Traveled 3 hours to get it. Emailed Cyndi and they agreed to sell it at MSRP with no other BS. I emailed at the right time because ours came off the truck in the morning. Had to travel. Live the in the Madison, WI area where there are 2 dealerships, Russ Darrow and Metro. Russ Darrow wanted 5k in dealer addons which we all know are garbage. Said it was required on Tellurides. Metro wasn't much better. They wanted to add some stupid $1200 package and a pinstripe after they said they would sell at MSRP. Who does pinstripes anymore? Anyway we were happy at WIllowbrook in the end. They wanted to charge us for their protection package but we already agreed to buy it without.
Hi. I am dealing with Willowbrook now. Who did you deal with? The 1st Telluride back in early Dec the GM Mike told me MSRP if I came in and filled out the paperwork to buy. I did that. Then they said it was delayed until March. Gave me a Black Copper arriving Early Jan same price. It arrived today and they said the owners friend had bought it and now offering me a White for $5k over and won't honor the MSRP as previously promised stating the owner said no. I dealt with Cyndi and Mike the GM and no one is honoring what they promised. Who did you deal with? :(

Just put a reservation in with Carlos @ Fowler I25 ... so far so good, very responsive and easy to work with. @ MSRP

The dealers in the Northwest all want 5-15k over MSRP ... that's insane and im surprised they sell anything.

What's the delivery estimate given? Is it about 6 months since order?

They have a few that are coming in the next 2-3 months so i grabbed one of those, ETA march. Was the build i was going to order so it worked out great.

Shouldn't be a surprise, as I got their info from this forum, but Lucas @ Kia of Muncie was fantastic.

I've been meaning to circle back to post, but:
- Ordered the Telluride (SX/Prestige/Nightfall/4WD/Towing) from him, despite living in TX...
- He was great to deal with - fair/transparent/honest (what I shouldn't get, etc), not pushy at all, but still very responsive.
- Pricing was meaningfully better than I was getting from the TX dealers, even with delivery costs.
- Instead of getting it delivered, my wife/daughter decided to fly up to pick it up in person & go on a road trip to visit family. Lucas arranged a driver to get them from the Indy airport to the dealership, had the car ready to go/triple checked for them ahead of their road trip, awesome walk thru, and...their road trip back to TX went off w/out an issue. (except that my sis-in-law got to see it before I did).
- No surprise that the build/order took awhile to come in, but Lucas was on top of it, quick to respond, and a pleasure to work with. (Having to do my own tax/tag/title at the TX DMV...was not a pleasure). Would absolutely work with him again, and couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I've been lurking around these forums for some time, really appreciate the community/feedback/info & whoever got all this started (and maintains it).

(Since I'm finally posting - I ended up putting on the Yakima Jetstream roof rack - it looks good & held up to my massive rooftop carrier on a recent 1k mile road trip...)

I'm in SD and every dealer is marking up
Yup. I went out of state to MN. Not sure how many will do out of state sales though. The ones in Minneapolis are probably more inclined to do so. Avoid Billion whatever you do. They are hilariously bad.

Which dealership did you go with and how much was shipping?
