Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

5 stars for Don Franklin, Somerset, KY (Jeff Hudson)

Moss SX Prestige Nightfall, Dune interior.

MSRP + small dealer fee.

Well worth the 12.5 hr drive. Found on on failcat.
I live in Ky, and based on your comment, I called them and spoke with Beth. She told me they charge $1500 over MSRP, and an $899 fee, plus tax, tag and transfer. I told her I'd pass. You must have hit them on a good day

Shoutout to Michael Kia in Groton, CT. Picked up my black copper SXP yesterday. No markup other than doc and vin etching fees that they were up front with. Did not even require a deposit when I called to reserve car 3 weeks ago. Sales manager Eli was accessible and had excellent communication during the process.

I just picked up my SX-P this past Saturday and here is the review that I left for Michael Kia in CT on Google......

Best Experience with buying a new car. I have purchased/leased over 12 vehicles and this was once of the easiest and painless experiences I have ever had. I was looking to purchase a Kia Telluride SX-P which is a very hard to find vehicle. Most of the dealers in the Tri-State area were marking up the vehicles by thousands of $$ over MSRP. I called the dealership and spoke with Leslie the internet sales manger. Leslie was super easy to work with and was extremely prompt in getting back to me with pricing and answered all my questions. Michael Kia was the only dealer I spoke with that was not marking up the vehicle and was completely honest and transparent during the negation process. I negotiated the entire deal over the phone and email. I also spoke with Jacob in sales and he arranged for me to pick up the car few days later. Jacob couldn't have been any nicer and was very easy to deal with. Finally, Jillian, the Business Manger made the paperwork process extremely easy and efficient. Overall a 5 star experience every step of the way. Buying a car can be a time consuming and unpleasant experience but Michael Kia and the entire staff were extremely professional and easy to work with,

I called Michael Kia yesterday about ordering a 2021 SX-P. I was told that the owner has implemented a 5% market adjustment fee on EX and above.

I am finalizing an order today with Crowley Kia in Bristol, CT for MSRP + a small dealer fee.

Good dealer report
i25Kia in Longmont, CO
I picked them as they are a no-nonsense, high volume dealer (I learned that from this forum!)
Placed order (black/black SX) on 4/25 ($500 refundable deposit)
Paid MSRP. .9%/48 month financing. No hidden fees or pressure for add ons. All-weather floor mats and front window tint were included.
Received the vehicle today!
They delivered the paperwork and vehicle to our place. We live about 40 miles south of the dealership so this was greatly appreciated.
Overall, a very positive experience and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. Worked with Ron/Steve/Mike

Do you know if they work with people out of State? I'll give them a call tomorrow - they are closed today.

They do and are selling at MSRP.

Their line for allocations is insanely long but they are getting almost 1 SX-P a day....from Failcat...

Had a good buying experience at Coral Springs Kia (FL). They were selling with market adjustments on EX and SX trims but reasonable compared to others. I was able to talk them down to $2000 and considering this area is saturated with $5-9K markups, i bit the bullet. Easy to work with, no BS. Miguel Farinas was my salesman. He’s got a youtube channel that he posts when new stuff comes in. (miguel farinas)
He called me as mine was coming off the truck today. We’ve been communicating for weeks since i stalk failcat daily and I got the first calI today.
Those still searching, keep fighting the good fight!! It’ll happen!
Proud owner of a 2021 EX AWD Gravity Gray Premium+Nightfall Telluride (wheels meh, the rest... LOVE)

My dealings with Power Kia in Salem, OR seemed too good to be true at first. They came through big time, exactly as promised and with absolutely no surprises. Herman, Shane, Tyler... You Rock!
I'm so happy to see this. I am going through them and after a not so awesome experience at Weston Kia in Beaverton, they seem too good to be true. The one I have a deposit on doesn't come in until September, but like you said they seem to good to be true (Ebony Black SX Nightfall with no markup....) I keep waiting for them to call me to tell me its going to to be more money, ect....

Just picked up my Everlasting Silver LX AWD from Nutley Kia in NJ. The process was very smooth, no hidden fees and straight forward at MSRP. Made my deposits 2 weeks ago and car arrived yesterday. The car is really nice although it’s a basic trim. Initially wanted the higher trim, but I did not want to wait few months or more. My salesman Nicolas Lima was very helpful and highly recommended to anyone wants to buy new Telluride in NY/NJ areas.

Thats really a shame that they changed their pricing and are selling above MSRP.

what does switching to 20 inches tire do? Does it make it drive better or mostly cosmetic?

First time car buyer here. Will most dealers be upfront about whether they have mandatory add-one, and other additions? I’m thinking about going the “ordering” route, but don’t want to go through that whole process only to have a dealer try to nickel and dime me at the end. Tips or insight greatly appreciated :)
If relevant, I’m in the RI / MA area.

Hi, and that's a great question!! I haven't been able to order mine yet, but I have talked to many dealers, and even people who give kudos to dealers who sell at MSRP aren't disclosing the add on fees. My suggestion is to talk to many dealers, especially ones that good ratings on this forum. Ask if they sell at MSRP, if they say yes, then ask about any fees or addendums, which is where they tack on more profit. Some like the appearance package, or protection package, usually between $900 and $1800, or more. Then there is fair market value, which is just a way to say it's a popular vehicle, so we're going to squeeze more money out of you. What bugs me, is if it wasn't so popular they would be tickled to get MSRP because people would be offering well below. My advice is, look around and VERIFY what they are really selling it for, Confirm what additional fees they want, MSRP doesn't necessarily mean what we assume it means. Many people, me included are buying from a dealer out of state to save $$ and to do business with honest dealers. Good luck, it's an adventure

Cosmetic... I just like the look with bigger, black wheels..
Not quite just cosmetic. Those 20" wheels will be heavier then the 18" wheels, and the tire itself is lower profile so the ride will be just a bit harsher but not as noticeable as it would be in a smaller car. The other issue is rotating mass - I'm not 100% sure but I think the 20" wheel / tire combo is heavier than the 18" setup. Also, down the line when you need to replace the tires (or wheels) that will be an additional higher cost than replacing 18" rubber. With the 20" inch setup I noticed a *bit* better response when doing sharp turns. I test drove an SX with the 20"s and an LX with 18"s. There was definitely a difference between the two in my opinion. I preferred the 20"s (and ofc I think they look better)

SO helpful! Thanks @mikeycat

My car came in today a few weeks ahead of schedule. I can't say enough good things about Gervais Kia in Lowell, Ma. Jim Brophy and Bob Fisher were awesome. MSRP pricing small dealer fee was the only additionally thing.

Great to know! Seem to be a few others saying the same thing. What Telly trim did you get?

EX Premium, Nightfall. Wasn't huge on Nightfall at first with the rims, but they are growing on me daily. Guess I'm stuck with it now
