However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery time

Congrats! We believe you. That’s definitely an incoming allocation that matches your order. If the exterior color and the tow hitch are all what you asked for specifically then it is really easy to find it quickly. Post some pictures when you pick up

So my specific requirements were:
- Everlasting Silver
- Bench Seat 2nd row
- Heated front seats (my wife's only request)
- AWD
- Trailer hitch (for hitched mounted storage box when traveling)

We originally wanted a 2020 S AWD with bench seat option, but the S bench seat option was dropped for 2021. For 2021, that meant LX, S, snd SX were out of the question. Also, it seems many or most EX models have been produced with the Prestige/Premium package, which eliminates the bench seat. Here in south GA, dealerships have told me that they rarely stock AWD models because we don't get snow.

So my actual order was for:
EX (non-Prestige/Premium)
AWD
Everlasting Silver
Options:
- Tow hitch (or towing package)
- Cargo Setback Up Mat
- Wheel locks
- LED Fog lights (if immediately available)
- Front skid plate (if immediately available)

The Telluride that came in fits that exactly except for the fog lights and skid plate. While waiting on the other dealership, I'd been watching failcat and calling around but had been unable to find one that wasn't spoken for or wasn't thousands above MSRP. That's the whole story.

Yeah that’s great. I mean you got what you’re looking for with some less options but saved the waiting list. For me we thought that if we’re paying $50k we’re not gonna get what’s available, we’ll get exactly what we want. And we were told it’s around 3 months wait. Of course I didn’t about this forum and how things go, and covid came and here we are still waiting after 9months. I would have definitely did it different if I knew about all of that when we ordered.

Happy VIN day to me??? A VIN popped up matching most of my specs, but is missing a few options I added. My dealer specified at least option had been left of my order, the illuminated scuff plates, so curious if other options were left off somehow.

@StephenCantrelle, could you please look it up and see if it’s indeed mine? 5XYP5DHC5MG121421 and the initials are DS

I think it’s too late! I can’t. I usually hit edit and type a dot since we can’t delete, but I dont have the option to edit that one, maybe because it’s old now!

My car is in Indiana, I live in Texas. I have arranged shipping that will have it here Monday. I gave it a few days buffer when I set it up to be safe. After paying for the shipping, I am still under MSRP and likely thousands below anything I could get around here.

I live in Houston and I'm considering ordering between Oct-Dec of this year. If you don't mind, which dealership did you go through? Has that whole process of buying from out-of-state presented any challenges? It's not like anywhere down here has Tellurides on hand to see in person so having it shipped in would seem fine to do if one knows exactly what they want. To be under MSRP with shipping sounds like a place I'd love to bring some business to. There is a dealership here in Richmond that told me I could order an EX at MSRP but that SX trims aren't available right now :/

I'm thinking the shipment time is less to Dallas. VIN 3 weeks before ETA?

We shall see. So this time next week - I should be seeing a VIN. MY ETA seems to be bouncing around the same group of days - so that is good.

I'm keeping a close eye on yours as I should be a week behind you (y)

It's a trade off. My car took almost 11 months to get to me (I expected six on the front end, but was in no rush, I basically ordered and forgot about it checking in maybe every couple months). As for the process, it was incredibly easy to do this remotely, but I was able to see and drive multiple Tellurides at a local dealer. Not having to step foot in a dealership and play any games was great. I have chosen to ship, right now, to get from Muncie to Dallas is running about $1200 for shipping. It was less when I ordered almost a year ago, and I was able to get quite a bit cheaper, but I have a family friend in that industry. In the end, I will be just under MSRP after shipping.

But that's a long wait. And If I was in a different situation, I may have tried to find a local dealer that would order or sell at MSRP, or play the failcat game and call dealers within maybe 5 or 6 hours and try to nap what I wanted at MSRP or a few buck over. Hopefully this is helpful, in conclusion, working with Kia of Muncie leads to a looong wait, but the process has been absolutely seamless. It took less combined time to purchase the vehicle from Muncie than it did to simply get in and out of a different manufacturers dealership when I just wanted to test drive a car.

If you're going to order from Muncie, they are quoting an 8-12 month delivery window. So take that into account if you're holding off you may end up with a 2022.

Whelp, got a text from my salesman today with a pic attached....... 😁 The wait is over!

I know many of you have been waiting MUCH longer than me, this is not to rub it in anyone's face, I'm just so excited I had to share!!

SXP Nightfall Everlasting Silver
