Order to delivery time

I ordered an SX-P gravity gray/black with tow option on 11/11/19. First ETA was 10/18, but no VIN yet, and the dealer has gone strangely silent. Question: The 2021 Telluride website has the ominous words "Coming Soon" next to the tow option (hitch + harness with no self-leveling shocks). I also do not see any new cars on Failcat with just the tow option. Does anybody know why the tow option is not available when they are producing tons of Tellurides with the tow package (hitch + harness + self-leveling shocks)? The only difference would seem to be the self-leveling shocks. When will the tow option be available? I am worried my 11+ month wait time is being further extended by this strange occurrence. Kia's terrible treatment of us long-time waiters is really unbelievable.

I also ordered the tow hitch & harness but the factory switched it to the Tow Package without telling the dealer or asking me. My ETA is 10/10 and my car is already at the dealer. Also, I had ordered the LED fog lights—and didn’t get them either. The fog lights were originally available at the beginning of 2021 production, but are now listed as “coming soon” along with the tow hitch & harness on the Kia build site. Another person had posted that his dealer said Kia is only putting the most common options on Tellurides now in order to clear the production backlog...whatever that means.
So my guess is you will be getting your VIN any day, and your Telly will include the tow package. Let us know what happens.

Thanks, very helpful. Are they going to charge you the extra $300 for the full tow package? What is the story on the free Black Friday TV?

I had to pay the difference for the tow package, and also mud flaps that were added on that I didn’t ask for. The TV was part of the Black Friday promotion Muncie had last year.

I’d almost bet that the dealer, when ordering, put the wrong code in for the tow package. Just speculation on my part.
