What did you pay for your KIA Telluride?

This is why many people HATE buying a new car. The games that many (but not all) dealers play with you. The sad part you basically got the price you wanted but their mistreatment of you thoughout the process eliminated any goodwill you would feel for that dealer....

Instead of you posting "I talked to the salesman, made a reasonable offer, and left happy! Be sure to go to XX Kia and ask for John, he is AWESOME", you get royally jerked around and massive gamesmanship.
its true. i bought my first kia in Charlotte NC when i was living there and couldnt have had a better experience, no games , they were fair and i left happy. My wife bought a subuaru forester in Louisville KY 4 years ago, and the sales guy was outstanding.

like i said, it wasnt terrible but it was just an awkward experience, i dont know if it had to do with the whole corona virus issue, but we just left feeling weird about it, instead of being happy we got a new car. My sister in law and her husband are now wanting to get a telluride, and you best believe i said dont bother driving up to cincy to that dealership. and believe me i wrote a mini novel during my survey.

After a couple weeks of shopping I just pulled the trigger yesterday. Ebony black with grey interior. It is used (850 miles) SX Prestige with towing, interior lighting kit, illuminated scuff plates, and original dealer installed 22" wheels, and many chrome parts wrapped black. The original MSRP was 48,500 and I paid $47,500.

Checking with a number of local dealers to price new and I was getting the typical "we start at $5k over MSRP."

Missing out on the original owner's warranty but I'm happy. It's exactly what I was looking for!

Now to learn about all the bells and whistles!

WHY would't you get the Factory Warranty?

Oh, I just assumed I wouldn't get the full first owner warranty. Maybe I should look into that?

UPDATE: It appears I get all warranties except the power train which is reduced to 60 months/60k miles

What wheels did the dealer put in it? Did he include the OE wheels? Post some pics, would love to see the custom bits. Sounds like you got a great deal.

The original KIA warranty coverages are cut to 5 years / 60,000 miles for second and subsequent owners. Only the original purchaser gets the full 10 year / 100,000 miles powertrain warranty.

Waiting for Corona pricing in a few months like 15-17% below MSRP as people stop buying... recession is coming ..

Sweeney in Florence seems to be good, but they do have some kind of package they add that's non negotiable for I believe it was $300 or there abouts (at least they did a couple years ago when shopping for my Stinger)... but I heard they were also doing Tellurides at MSRP... I didn't go through the Costco site, went directly through Kia of Muncie and they give you their costco price. Each dealer makes their own costco price and some of them are MSRP is their costco price.

Spent a lot of my early years around Montfort Heights.. I'm sure it's changed a bit in the last 30 years or so...lol..Good luck with your decision, let me know if I can help in any way.
So my wife and I test drove a Telly SX at Cronin yesterday in separate trips. You know social-d and all. I went to have my Sportage looked at for recall and was like what the heck. Brandon at Cronin was super awesome. It was a Sterling Silver SX with black interior. I liked it, but the wife wants the Dune interior. So looks like an SXP on the horizon. So probably going to let him know (he thinks they will most likely stop 20s and go to 21s, or get like a ton of SXs in the next month because of CV and plant shut down. Honestly wouldn’t mind waiting for a 21. Oh and Sweeney came back on an SXP for $52,128.75 OTD. No thanks.

I'm sorry for not knowing better, I'm kinda new here and in the process of buying an SX AWD Prestige. I understand the mark up game here especially in Cali. I am working on closing the deal on one with a $3500 mark up over MSRP with an out the door of $57,500. Is this outrageous amount to pay for this car? I'm working through a broker at my credit union and so far they are saving me money versus shopping on my own by emailing dealerships.

Also, on a side note, does anyone know or have a preferred dealership here in SoCal that is decent enough to work with?

Judging by the reactions I guess it's pretty bad deal right? So anyone in SoCal wanna shine in on what I should be paying out here? And which dealership to work with?

If you want a cross country trip, reach out to Lucas at Muncie Kia in Indiana. They are giving Costco discounts about $1200 off MSRP.

Depending on your situation, you need to figure out what $3500 is worth to you. Don't forget that you will be paying taxes on that additional amount. Use the tools, find what you are looking for and figure out what the cost to fly there and drive back would be. As a side, I was quoted about 1K to have mine trucked to me. I spent less than that flying there and taking 2 days to drive home. I've flown in the last week. 5 on one flight, 7 on the next, 11 on the third and 18 on the last. The first 3 were 80 passenger jets and the last was an airbus 319 with over 130 seats. Plenty of space between passengers and the airports are ghost towns. People are closer in Costco than the planes and airports.

I was just on their website but not a single Telluride is listed. I guess they're that popular. As far as flying there and doing cross country coming back, is kinda a little too much for me. I might however entertain the idea of having it shipped if the price for it essentially negates the MSRP discount. Still, It would still a whole lot better deal than what is out here.

Speaking of what is out here, is this really the only way to get a decent price on these? I mean not a single dealership here in Cali would even come close to what they would offer out of state?

If I use out of state price as a bargaining chip, would it work out here?

Doubtful. I tried that years ago with a WRX and they laughed at me. Muncie will order for you and you pick up ( or ship to you.). They seem to be the Kia go to in the country?

Is that the reason they are out of stock? How about taxes and licensing? How does that play out considering I'm in Cali? Do they adjust the pricing accordingly or that is something I have to take care off once delivered and registered here?

Taxes always apply to where the final product is shipping. However, it depends on if the dealership has a sales tax license in California or not. I'm going to say doubtful. So when you buy it, it probably won't have tax on it (basically what you pay in sales tax for your home address). So what will happen is when you go to register it, you will probably pay the tax at that time. Guessing, its different in every state. If they have a license, they will include sales tax for your area, not theirs.
