Good Dealer Dealings - List Your Good Dealer Experience

Just ordered from MUNCIE KIA ( Lucas ). Gave a $500 deposit on a 2023 Dark moss /Dune SX Prestige ,Nightfall ,Tow & mats for Msrp $51,520. Lucas was excellent easy to work with answered all my questions played no games . The only bad news was he thinks their dealership is a year out with ordered Tellurides 12 months . I live in Delaware and just checked pricing at Spirit airlines. For $139. or there about's is a home run . Muncie will pick me up at airport or del Telluride there to meet me . I noticed on line Muncie Doc fees were only $130 . Can anyone confirm there OTD pricing or any other added fees I'm not aware of ? Just for the record to forum members , I made a spread sheet called most dealers in NC, VA , MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY..... Not one would sell a Telluride for MSRP. Every one of those scumbag dealers contacted were (5k to 8k over sticker ) they will never get my business for a new Kia down the road!! Never !!!
Ordering has not opened for the 2023, so sorry to say, but it's highly unlikely that he placed that order for you. Plus those specs you gave are for the 2022. Information out so far re: the 2023 indicate that there is no more Nightfall, nor Dune brown interior. You may have just been placed in a queue, but no way he could have ordered a 2023 when ordering hasn't even opened up for it.

There is no Nightfall option on the 2023 Tellurides. Kia has discontinued it. So what exactly did the dealer say that you were ordering?

You are correct... Muncie Kia is 10 month to 12 months out with there back orders . Lucas Boehn (sales guy) put my order in for a 2022 which will convert to a 2023 in Oct / Nov 22.

Noted : If Dune brown interior or nightfall edition is not avail on my 2023 models ( I gave him other options )

Correct . Muncie kia is almost a year out on ordered Tellurides . What they did was put my order on the end of their 2022 ordering list which will convert to a 2023 model. Muncie claims I might not get a 2023 till sept ,2023 unless production amps up.

Best dealer in the nation. When 2023 orders open up, Lucas will adjust your order as needed. There may be a model year price increase. Mine took 11 months and there was about a $500 mid year price increase by Kia. Not Muncie's fault. Doc fee two weeks ago was $199, plus $31.25 title fee. Nothing else added. Way cheaper than most msrp dealers who have $800 doc fees.

Agreed.......Nothing but high praise for Muncie. Been buying vehicles over the phone the last 40 years & across state lines , Muncie Kia is well versed in out of state purchases . I always try to stay out of high doc fee states unless dealers adjust pricing to compensate their fee

Quick update for anyone interested in ordering a 2023 Telluride from Kia Muncie .

Spoke with Lucas today at Kia Muncie . Once he has ordering options ( end of sept.) with colors & packages for 2023 he will reach out to all his customers, go over everything just in case they need to be changed.

It's amazing how prolonged the Telluride's 2022 model year has become. As I've mentioned in other threads, customers are already driving around in their 2023 Palisades, and have been doing so for several weeks now. But Kia won't even get the basic 2023 Telluride MY info out to dealers for more than another month.

It is amazing. I bought two new Tellurides exactly one year apart. Both are 22's.

Just wanted to report my smooth transactions with Lev Kia in Framingham, MA.

Ordered with $500 deposit and agreement to sell at MSRP on 12/21/22.
White/ Dune SX P/N/T
Got the call on 8/17/22 that it was at the dealer and ready to schedule pick up.
Picked up last night (8/23/22). They added $475 for Doc fee and $130 for new plate/registration.
The finance guy tried to sell me an array of Maintenance Packages, but I declined.
Paid in full with a cashier's check and was done.
I highly recommend Lev Kia for an MSRP order.

Got it just as the news broke about the recall...so yeah...there's that. LOL!

I just had a great experience at Matt Blatt Kia, Egg Harbor NJ. I was looking a few months ago to trade in my 3 year old 2020 Prestige Telly with 50,000 miles on it. I knew about the $10k market adjustment but figured it might be worth it because of the value of my trade in. Boy was I wrong! Every dealer I talked with tried to screw me on the front end and the back end with the trade in. The best deal was $30k with my trade.

I’m not sure if things are starting to loosen up or I caught the right timing on the last day of the month or just got lucky but here’s what happened. I received an email at 9:15AM yesterday from the General Manager at Matt Blatt saying they wanted to sell 20+ Kia’s by the end of business day. I gave it a shot and received a call back within 5 minutes and we started working a deal for a White Prestige Nightfall edition that was on the lot. I was shocked when they came back with a price of $18,200 with the trade. White was the last color I wanted so I passed on the deal. They tried to find another Telly in the system to sell me but came up with zilch. They would keep looking and get back to me.

I get a call at 2:30PM saying a truck just came in with a Dark Moss Nightfall with towing package and he just needed to check if there was a deposit on it. Low and behold no deposit and it was mine. Price was $19k with the trade and I was so thrilled I didn’t even try to negotiate it down any further. On the trip to the dealership I was 50/50 at best that this deal was going to happen, burned too many times I guess! But 2 hours later I was driving home happy with the car. I finally have remote start on the keyfob, I am living!

Congrats, but what was the price of the car not including your trade?

They are still charging the $9,995 mark up on cars in the lot so the sticker was $51,450, total $61,445.
$44,550 trade and $19k even out the door including tax, tags and fees. I am happy considering all the bad deals that are going around on Telly’s. Could I have gotten more on the trade from Carmax etc? Maybe, probably but I didn’t want that extra step.

Congrats on your purchase, at the end of the day if you are happy is all that matters :)

Thanks!
So I got a bad deal? 😂
well .. a 9k markup to me is not a great deal, but I also had to wait 8 months for my MSRP purchase ... so .. time plays a part too lol

Schaumburg Kia - IL - Good Experience despite long wait

MSRP Phone order with $1K Deposit August 17 2021

2022 SX/P AWD/N/T Wolf/Dune

VIN July 2022 - Delivered August 25 2022 - In our greedy little hands August 30 2022

Despite the long wait and needing to check in, They provided an eta and vin as soon as they had one. No funny business at pick up with MSRP, no hard upsell, declined protection package and left happy.

Not sure why this is in the good dealer thread. Paying 20% over MSRP?

I had a very nice experience at Arapahoe with no surprises. It took 5.5 months from order to delivery and paid MSRP. Georgia was friendly, helpful, and always responsive.

Loving the truck so far.
